Statement of the Presidency

The members of the Turkish Cypriot Side of the Technical Committee on Youth have been determined

President Ersin Tatar has determined the Turkish Cypriot chair and members of the bilateral Technical Committee on Youth, which has been established as the 13th technical committee.

As it will be recalled, during the informal meeting on Cyprus held in Geneva last month, the two leaders had agreed on a group of initiatives, that included the establishment of a Technical Committee on Youth. This agreement was reaffirmed by the two leaders in their last meeting on April 2, where they agreed to forward their lists of committee members to the United Nations.

The list of members of the Turkish Cypriot side of the Technical Committee on Youth, designated by President Tatar, was today shared with the UN, simultaneously with the Greek Cypriot side.

The Technical Committee on Youth aims to bring together young people from both sides around common projects and to increase dialogue between the two sides on youth-related issues.
