President Ersin Tatar's condolence message on the passing of TMT and Mujahid Commander Halil Paşa:
“I have learned with deep and great sadness the passing of TMT and Mujahid Commander Halil Paşa, who fearlessly stood at the forefront of the Turkish Cypriot people's struggle for freedom and independence with great sacrifices.
While heroic Halil Paşa, served in very important positions in the Turkish Resistance Organization and the Mujahid Army, he also provided great services for our people to reach the morning of July 20, 1974. While Halil Paşa was at the forefront of the establishment of the TRNC, he also served in the Constituent Assembly.
Halil Paşa, who served as the Chairman of the Turkish Cypriot Mujahideen Association for many years, will forever live in the hearts of our people. May his soul rest in peace. I offer my condolences to his relatives and brothers in arms.”
