President Ersin Tatar, in his address to a delegation of retired non-commissioned officers from Yalova said “It is the love of Türkiye and our faith in the TRNC that binds us together. All our strength derives from our faith in Anatolia and our own state”.

Touching upon the strong bonds with Türkiye, President Tatar warned against the efforts by the international arena aims to damage these close ties. “No power can destroy those special ties,” highlighted the President.

Indicating that the Cyprus Peace Operation was a pivotal turning point in our history, President Tatar said the following:

“Our expectation from our people is to be in solidarity. The partnership, which has been called federation for years, is a dangerous process that would lead us to extinction. It involves the withdrawal of the Republic of Türkiye from these territories. Its main goal is zero troops, zero guarantee.  The struggle of Mehmetçik and our mujahidin in 1974 Peace Operation and then the redrawing of our borders, the establishment of the TRNC as well as the presence of the Turkish troops with the guarantee of Türkiye all allowed us to live independently on these territories.”

Drawing attention to the traps to diminish Turkish dominance in the Eastern Mediterranean, President Tatar stressed that never will they give way to the game played with the aim of surrounding Anatolia and will continue to act in cooperation with the Republic of Türkiye. President Tatar added that peace and prosperity are being ensured in the best way in the TRNC.

President Tatar reminded that while the Greek Cypriot-Greek duo aimed to annex the island with Greece, Türkiye has always stood by the Turkish Cypriots and the Turkish Cypriot people resisted all the suffering. Commemorating all martyrs with mercy, President Tatar said “Our struggle will continue”.
