President Ersin Tatar has participated in the opening of the Fine Arts March Exhibition at the Near East University, being held at the Atatürk Culture and Congress Centre Exhibition Hall.

Addressing the participants at the ceremony, President Tatar stated: “Art is about life itself, a display of culture, modernity and universality. For us Turkish Cypriots, it is also a response, and a challenge, to the inhumane isolation faced by our people.”

Pointing out that works of art can be shared with the whole world at the same time with the exhibitions being opened in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, President Tatar stated that “it is a pleasure to be participating in the opening of different exhibitions monthly at Near East University”.
President Tatar congratulated the Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design and the academics at the faculty as well as the artists of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. The President explained that the exhibition features 50 works of painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking and stained glass art.
Expressing that he is very pleased to be together with the rectors of İstanbul University, Bingöl University, and Malatya İnönü University, who were also present at the exhibition, President Tatar said that the “activities carried out by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus together with Motherland Türkiye are extremely meaningful”.
Stressing that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus will continue on its way and will continue to embrace and appreciate art in all forms, President Tatar stated that in his meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on April 5, he will explain the rightful struggle of the Turkish Cypriot People and demand for an end to the unjust isolation and restrictions.
Recalling the words of the President of the Republic of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, that “the world is bigger than 5", President Tatar emphasised that the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, whose existence is accepted, should now be recognised.
