President Ersin Tatar participates in the burial ceremony of the 'missing martyr' Mustafa Mulla Hüseyin, whose remains were found by the Committee on Missing Persons

President Ersin Tatar has participated in the state ceremony and burial of ‘missing martyr’ Mustafa Mulla Hüseyin – whose remains were found by the Committee on Missing Persons (CMP).  
 
The funeral prayer, which was held at the Canbulat Martyrdom in Gazimağusa, was held on Friday, December 1, 2023. 
Following the funeral service, President Tatar handed the flags of the Republic of Türkiye and the TRNC that had covered the coffin to the family of Mr. Hüseyin at the cemetery.
 
Following a minute’s silence and a gun salute, Mustafa Mulla Hüseyin was buried.
 
The Religious Affairs Gazimağusa Regional Officer Faruk Seçkin recited suras from the Holy Quran and offered prayers for Mustafa Mulla Hüseyin and all the martyrs during the burial.
 
Mr. Hüseyin was born in 1936, was married, and had two children. He disappeared whilst commuting to Larnaca to buy fuel on December 27, 1963, when he was abducted and murdered by EOKA members on his way back. Mustafa Mulla Hüseyin had not been seen since and was declared a ‘missing person’.
