President Ersin Tatar has participated in the launch of “The Jewels of Cyprus” [Kıbrıs’ın Cevherleri] project that was inaugurated in a ceremony held at the Acapulco hotel in Çatalköy, where he commended successful Turkish Cypriot women for producing work through new and innovative ideas.
Organised in cooperation with the Cyprus Turkish Entrepreneurial Women's Association (GİKAD) and TRNC Telsim-Vodafone, the President underlined the importance of the bond that exists between the TRNC, Azerbaijan and the Turkic world.
In his speech at the event, President Tatar congratulated officials of GİKAD and TRNC Telsim-Vodafone, who brought the project to life, and emphasised that Turkish Cypriot women are producing work through creative, new and innovative ideas across different fields.
The President also expressed his gratitude to the delegation that is visiting the TRNC from Azerbaijan and said the relations with GİKAD and the delegation from Azerbaijan will continue to be strengthened. He said the hearts of the people of Azerbaijan and the TRNC are one and the same.
Emphasising that the roots of the Turkic world are one from the same family, the President underlined the importance of Turkic states in maintaining unity and solidarity by protecting its national values. President Tatar expressed his gratitude to everybody who contributed to the realisation of the project.
Short films about the project that were recorded in the villages of Lapta, Güzelyurt, Lefke, Serdarlı and Büyükkonuk were also screened at the event.
