President Tatar has met with the Council of Turkish Cypriot Associations (CTCA) UK Chairman Kenan Nafi and the CTCA UK Vice Chair Halil İzzet at the Presidency.

President Tatar commended the CTCA UK – the largest umbrella group of the Turkish Cypriots in the UK, and paid tribute to Turkish Cypriots for their successes across different sectors in the country.

“Whilst Turkish Cypriots continue their lives in the UK and contribute to the social fabric and economy there, it is also very important for them and indeed future generations to learn about their roots, history, language and culture,” President Tatar said.

Stating that he had lived in the UK for many years, President Tatar expressed his support and appreciation to Mr Nafi, the CTCA UK team and its member associations for their hard work in serving the community, adding that "although the Turkish Cypriots live abroad, their hearts are with their homeland, the TRNC".
Mr Nafi thanked President Tatar for the meeting and handed an invitation to the President inviting him to the seventh Turkish Cypriot Cultural Festival, being organised by CTCA UK, to be held in London in June.

Presidential Foreign Press Officer Kerem Haser accompanied the President at the meeting.
