President Ersin Tatar congratulates Turkish Cypriot researcher and writer İsmail Bozkurt, who received an award at the Turkish World Award Ceremony held in Bursa in cooperation with the Organisation of Turkic States and the Turkish Language Association.

“This success is the biggest indicator of the unity of language and notion in the Turkish world” 
 
President Ersin Tatar has congratulated Turkish Cypriot researcher and writer İsmail Bozkurt following his “outstanding success” at having received an award at the Turkish World Awards Ceremony that was held in Bursa.
 
The ceremony, which was hosted by the Organisation of Turkic States in cooperation with the Turkish Language Association,  which commemorated its establishment and the 90th anniversary of Language Day.    President Tatar, who held a telephone call with Mr Bozkurt,  congratulated him and wished him success in the future. 
 
Mr Bozkurt received the “Unity in Language, Idea, and Work Turkish World Literature (Novel) Award” (Dilde, Fikirde, İşte Birlik Türk Dünyası Edebiyat (Roman) Ödülü) -- the first award of its type that has been introduced this year -- from Binali Yıldırım,  Head of the Aksakallar Delegation of the Organisation of Turkic States.
 
President Tatar stated that every award received is very important for the promotion of the TRNC abroad.   Mr Bozkurt, who thanked the President for his well wishes and telephone call to him, emphasised that he received the award on behalf of the TRNC.
 
 President Tatar’s congratulatory message is as follows: 
 
“I most sincerely congratulate Turkish Cypriot researcher and writer İsmail Bozkurt, who was deemed worthy of an award at the Turkish World Award ceremony held in Bursa, with the cooperation of the Organisation of Turkic States and the Turkish Association, commemorating the establishment of the Turkish Language Association and the 90th anniversary of Language Day.  I wish him continuous success in the future. This success is the biggest indicator of the unity of language and notion of the Turkish world, which is also the theme of the Organisation.    
 
This event has once again shown that the Turkish Cypriot people are indeed an inseparable part of the Turkic world, and that the TRNC is a country where the cultural and artistic life is at an advanced level.
 
I commend Mr Bozkurt for not only making an important contribution with regards to our collective memory as Turkish Cypriots through his outstanding work, but also for overcoming the unjust embargoes imposed against our People through the universality of literature.”
